Google’s quantum computer

In October 2025, Google announced a major advance in quantum computing. The company created a new algorithm called Quantum Echoes, which runs on its own quantum chip. According to Google, this algorithm is about 13,000 times faster than the most advanced classical algorithms that run on supercomputers.

 

Quantum Echoes can generate unique data that may be used to improve artificial intelligence (AI) systems. For example, it could help create new datasets for areas like life sciences, where good data is often difficult to find.

 

In the future, this algorithm could also help scientists study molecules, discover new medicines, and develop new materials. These are important steps toward making quantum computers useful in the real world.

 

Google researchers said the new algorithm is verifiable, which means that other scientists can confirm its results using different quantum computers or experiments. This is key for turning quantum theory into practical technology.

 

This breakthrough shows Google’s growing role in the global race for quantum computing, joining other major tech companies like Microsoft and Amazon. It’s another big step toward a future where computers can solve problems far beyond today’s machines.
